Maria Bartiromo - the American television journalist and broadcaster who was among the very first to broadcast live via the New York Stock Exchange - is well-known for a number of her extremely successful programs. Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actor in film television and on stage since the latter part of 1970. From the age 27 she has performed as a professionally active thespian. Her first appearance on stage in the production The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) in off-Broadway. In the following year she was cast in her first role on TV in The Perfect Tribute. In 1992 she got her big break when she was cast in Basic Instinct as a minor character. Then, in The Firm, she played the leading female character for the first time. She was cast opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Throughout the 1990s she worked alongside some of the most renowned actors in the business, including Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. Recently she played Dr Alex Blake in the internationally popular police procedural crime drama Criminal Minds.
